How Your Gift Helps
The Invest in a Child campaign is an effort to raise dollars for specific programs the school district has identified as priorities.
District teachers and administrators identify programs needed most and submit them to the Foundation for consideration.
When selecting projects to adopt, Foundation Directors look for the following criteria:
- There is no other funding available for the project.
- The project contributes to student achievement and well-being.
- The project is the most effective and efficient use of community contributions.
The Invest in a Child campaign supports the following programs:
Students of Promise Scholarship Program
The Students of Promise program recognizes high school juniors who are succeeding in school in spite of extreme obstacles. Some challenges these students face are homelessness, critical illness, loss of parents, foster care, and abuse. Upon graduation from high school, students are eligible to receive $1,500 scholarships for use in post-secondary education. Meet some amazing kids
Classroom and School Grants
Grants for up to $10,000 are awarded to teachers and school staff for innovative projects that enhance learning in a creative and motivational way. Meet some great teachers

Grants for New Teachers
When a new teacher sets up a classroom for the very first time, it is common for that teacher to spend several hundred dollars out of his or her own pocket. The Foundation provides a $250 grant to each new teacher to help with these expenses. Meet some of our newest teachers
