Since becoming Superintendent of this outstanding school district, I have discovered many reasons why the children in Clovis schools excel in all areas. One of the most important reasons is the amazing level of parent and community support.
This community loves its schools. Wherever I go, I hear multiple generations talk proudly about graduating from a Clovis Unified high school. Those who didn’t attend our schools are anxious to share which Clovis schools their children or grandchildren attend. This school district is a unique and wonderful place for children.
I am a big believer in public education foundations. The funds raised by these volunteer boards can make the difference in a good education and a great education for children. Our own Foundation for Clovis Schools is an inspiring example of an entire community coming together to make sure our students have what they need to succeed. When I learned that the Foundation has been raising funds and supporting our schools for over 20 years, it was proof that individuals and businesses alike understand the importance of investing in our children.
The men and women who serve as Directors of the Foundation work tirelessly on behalf of our schools. As I get to know more about each of them, I am in awe of the hours and energy they spend mobilizing financial support for our students. I can’t thank them enough.
