Each year, the Foundation invites teachers and schools across the district to submit proposals for innovative projects that enhance learning in a creative and motivational way.

The Doc Buchanan Leadership Academy is named in honor of Dr. Floyd B. “Doc” Buchanan, the District’s first superintendent, and the educational philosophies developed during his tenure. A partnership between the Foundation for Clovis Schools and Clovis Unified School District, the Leadership Academy is an intentional leadership development program to sustain high standards and keep student-centered decision-making as a hallmark of Clovis Unified into the future.

A core belief in Clovis Unified is, "It's people, not programs that make the positive difference for kids." Hiring and maintaining quality teachers is one of the most important things done to provide students with an exceptional education.

 

The Students of Promise scholarship program recognizes high school juniors who are attending school on a regular basis, showing responsibility and succeeding in school despite very challenging situations in their personal lives.
